Men are From Mars and Women are from Venus

 

Quotes of the Week: 

“Women always worry about the things that men forget; men always worry about the things women remember”

 “Woman was taken out of man; not out of his head to top him, nor out of his feet to be trampled underfoot; but out of his side to be equal to him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be loved”

I selected these two quotes this week to show that even though men and women are very different in physical structure down to their thought process, God placed man and woman on

this earth so they can compliment one another in happiness to perfection.  We as members of the church know that man and woman were placed on earth so that we can get sealed in the Holy Temples of the Lord and to bring children into this world to raise them unto the Lord. But from our readings and discussions we see that there are differences in sexes. The world sees the difference in sexes like the picture above where they seem to be a constant battle of whose right, but I believe that Father (Heavenly) intended for us to be at wits end with the ones we love. I believe God made us different so we like the first quote can make up for the slack the other person has.  I think this plan of placing opposites in genders and having us marry is the ultimate perfection method.  I would like to post some of my insights from this week.

Even though when we think of male and female we think of all the differences going on between them, but the book begins by listing what we have in common for a need of necessity in life, "survival, self-esteem, intimacy and growth".  I believe the first trait of survival can be applied to both for our physical and spiritual needs that these bodies demand for nourishment.  

 

"Women express their feelings verbally more than men do." while men enjoy more physical activity.  Women ask three times as many questions as men.  Women are more likely to reach out for support for others, while males are more likely to solve their problems on their own. So I see these all as strengths and weakness, but each is complimenting the other.  Like a man can learn to communicate more while a woman could learn to more physical activities such as hiking or biking or taking up a sport. 

"Just another interesting fact "women are more sensitive to the nonverbal cues than are men. Women are better able to recall the nonverbal behavior of someone.  And women are more skilled at interpreting the nonverbal behavior."  Sometimes I'll hear girls talk about body language and I just think they are looking too far or deep into it.  That is where I fall is that my male mind sees things and doesn't take them into as much account, while a woman's is more in tune.  I think this is a great attribute God has given to His daughters here on the earth.  Being able to have that ability ingrained in the female mind, those who will be the majority, of raising children and be able to see beyond the surface of what their child's needs are.  How wonderful it is to have God give us these abilities to make this life an easier experience to go through.
