Quote of the Week:
Home sweet home. This is the place to find happiness. If one doesn't find it here, one doesn't find it anywhere. - M. K. Soni
We were able to discuss in class this week that there are many benefits to having a stay at home wife. In the family proclamation it reads, "Mothers are primarily responsible
for the nurture of their children." So we see that raising of children is one of the highest responsibilities a mother can ever do in her family's life. I constantly think how there is a war going on in the world, not a physical one but a spiritual one similar to the one that we all were involved in in the Pre-Mortal Life we all once had and overcame. The mother is one of the main lines of defense in keeping the home a spiritual place of refuge from the sins and ways of the world outside of the home. This does not exclude the father from contributing to the level of spirituality in the home, but he is suppose to back up the state of living in the home.
I honestly haven't decided if I am going to be able to make all the money to provide for my families needs. Though the studies show that those couples that do choose to have the wife work have less time to spend with the kids or tend to the housework such as cleaning or cooking. Ultimately the extra job may lead to more stress than less stress. Even from a financial position couples may make less due to taxes than those that have one individual work. It will have to be an act of faith for those who do choose to have the wife stay home and raise the kids. I do know this, if my wife will stay home, no doubt my children will be raised to the best of their ability to combat the evil pollutions that flood this world.
